Generate a Google Maps API Key for Website

1. Please head to this link and click on Get Started in the top right hand corner.

2. Select Maps and Continue.

3. Create a new project, agree to the Terms of Service and click Next.

4. Click on Create Billing Account.

Google will require you to enable billing and associate it with all of your Google Maps Platform projects. Zenu only uses the free modules for website maps and you won’t be charged unless you manually upgrade to a paid account. Click here for further information.

5. Select Country > Australia, agree to the Terms of Service and click on Continue.

6. Fill out the Customer Info and Payment Method sections and click on Start My Free Trial.

7. Once the next page has loaded, click on GOT IT when the pop up displays.

8. You should now see YOUR API KEY. Please copy the API Key and provide this to us.

9. Head to Credentials and click on the API key you created to update it.

10. Change the Application restrictions to HTTP referrers (web sites).

11. Underneath Website restrictions, click on ADD AN ITEM and enter in all of your domain names

that will be used for the website as follows (one per line):

youragency.com.au

*.youragency.com.au/*

Please note if you have multiple domain names for your website, enter each domain name as above on a new line. Press ADD AN ITEM to enter new lines.

12. Leave API restrictions set to ‘Don’t restrict key’ and Save.

13. Click on Dashboard on the left hand side and click on + Enable APIS & Services.

14. Next to the Maps section, click VIEW ALL.

15. Click into the following API services to Enable them:

(Some or all of them may ALREADY be enabled, in which case you don’t need to change them)

• Maps JavaScript API

• Maps Static API

• Places API

• Geocoding API

Once you have completed the above steps, please make a note of which Google Account including email address was used to create this and then you are all done.
