Processing a Bank Reconciliation

Updated over a year ago

The governing legislation in your state or territory may have specific requirements on when a bank reconciliation should be processed. We would recommend reconciling regularly against your bank statement. This allows you to rectify any discrepancies quickly and prepares you for the end-of-month rollover.

Select Trust | Select Process Bank Reconciliation.

If you have multiple trust accounts, select the account to be reconciled.
The Bank Statement Number will run in numerical sequence.
Verify the Bank Statement Date (transactions inclusive of this date)
Select OK

1- Enter the Closing Bank Balance from your statement/printout
2- Cross-check and tick off all transactions that appear on your statement/printout
The Reconciled Balance should equal the Closing Bank Balance.

Investigate any discrepancies
3- Select the Process button if the account is reconciled correctly (without a variance)

Print, Email or save the Bank Reconciliation as a PDF/XPS. Doing so will create a copy under Trust | Bank Reconciliation Report History Inquiry

A copy of the bank reconciliation will not be created if the "cancel" button is selected.
