Adjusting a Sale

Updated over a year ago

Types of Adjustments to Consider

One of the most important steps you can take when making any decision to revert back to a previous status or make changes to calculations is to select the right option. Depending on your specific scenario, it's important to take your time and carefully consider all of the options before making your decision.

To begin select "Adjust Sale"

Undo Everything

If an error is made during the processing of an Account Sale, it is possible to undo the sale and return the status back to Unconditional. This will allow you to start the process again and enter the information correctly.

In order to select Undo Everything, transactions should not be bank reconciled or created with a date in a prior month. If any payments to the Vendor or yourselves have been banked, then do not use this option.

Add a reason as to why the Account Sale is being reversed and select Continue

Select Yes to clear the transactions that were created

The invoices have now been deleted

The status is now Unconditional

The payments created at the Account Sale have also been removed

Adjust the Commission

Select "Adjust the Commission" when you discover that the Gross Commission and/or fees need to be changed after the Sale has already had the Account Sale run, or has been completed and payments to the Vendor/Us have already been banked.

In this example, the commission is going to be reduced from $22,000.00 to $21,000.00

Enter the adjusted figure of $21,000.00

The system will automatically create an adjusted invoice

The commission amount will now be updated to $21,000.00

The adjustment has been saved and the gross commission reduced to $21,000.00
As the transactions were previously created and banked, the refund amount of $1000.00 due to the Vendor would be dealt with from the trading account

Adjust Deductions

Select "Adjust Deductions" when the sale has been Completed and the Gross Commission is correct, but the Referral Fees, Franchise Fees, or Deductions need to be changed.

In this example, the franchise fee will be updated from 8% to 7%

Enter a reason for the adjustment

The data field is now editable. Update the Franchise Fee to 7%

The Split with Agents figure has now increased from $17,563.64 to $17,754.55

Zenu Trust automatically works out the changes.

In this example, the original amount of $878.18 payable to Michele has been reversed.

The amount has been adjusted to $ 887.73

Status change

Selecting "Change the Status to Account Sale" or "Unconditional" is simply a status change.

Any changes must be manually made.
