How to Edit What a Menu is Linked To

Editing What a Menu is Linked to

Updated over 2 months ago

Menus on your website can be linked either to one of your existing pages or to an external web address. Follow the steps below to edit where a menu item directs visitors.

Step 1: Access Your Menus

Navigate to Navigation in Web Builder, then select either Primary Menu or Footer Sitemap.

  • The Primary Menu displays in the Header at the top of your website pages.

  • The Footer Sitemap appears in the Footer at the bottom of your pages.

The way these menus appear depends on your selected Header and Footer styles. (For details on editing Header and Footer styles, refer to their dedicated guides.)

Step 2: Open the Menu Item to Edit

After selecting Primary Menu or Footer Sitemap, you’ll see your existing menu items listed on the right-hand side.

Click the menu item you want to edit. This will open the Edit Link pop-up.

Step 3: Update the Link

In the pop-up, you can change both the Menu Text and the destination of the link.

You have two options for where to link the menu item:

  • Link to your page: Select an internal page from the dropdown list.

  • Link to a web address: Enter an external URL manually.

If the link directs users to a website outside your own, toggle Open in a New Window to Yes. This ensures visitors stay on your site while viewing the external content in a new tab.

Step 4: Save Your Changes

Once you’ve made your updates, click Save to apply the changes.
